This Orange Calcite is from Mexico and has a lovely deep colour with some wonderfully contrasting white veins. Some pieces also have the thick white drusy skin attached.

These lovely leaf motif carvings are made from Orange Banded Calcite. They have been beautifully shaped with a great aspect and have been pre-drilled for you to create your own individual piece of jewellery. On average the pieces weigh 12g and measure 4.5cm x 2cm.

Calcite:-

While its name comes from the German word calcit (meaning limestone) and only came into use relatively recently, in the ancient world, Calcite was grouped together with gypsum and called “alabaster” for its fair, milky colour.
