Lapis Lazuli:-

Lapis lazuli is a sodium aluminium silicate with sulphur, chlorine hydroxyl, and variable inclusions of pyrite and white calcite. The name means "blue rock" and is always a brilliant blue with violet or greenish tints.

The rich blue colour is due to the lazurite that is an essential component of this mineral. Small crystals of pyrite are always present in lapis lazuli and their brassy yellow colour is both attractive and diagnostic in distinguishing lapis lazuli from its blue cousin - sodalite, which lacks pyrite. The calcite produces white streaks in the lapis and too much calcite will lower the value of the stone.

Lapis Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan for thousands of years and was extensively used throughout the ancient world, especially by the Egyptian people. During the Renaissance, Lapis Lazuli was ground into powder and mixed into paint.

Lapis Lazuli is a high vibrational stone composed of the blue crystal Lazurite, white Calcite, and speckles of gold Pyrite. Associated with the Third Eye Chakra when it comes to spiritual enlightenment, it all starts with the self. Egyptian royalty believed in the stones power to stimulate openness to the spirit world and the infinite possibilities of the imagination.

Lapis Lazuli bonds relationships in love and friendship and helps you to be able to express your feelings and emotions. It removes non constructive feelings of martyrdom, cruelty and suffering. If used as crystal water it will remove emotional bondage.

Lapis lazuli encourages taking charge of your life. It reveals inner truth, encourages self awareness and allows self expression without holding back or compromising. If repressed anger is causing difficulties for you in the throat or in communication, lapis lazuli releases them. Lapis lazuli brings the enduring qualities of honesty, compassion to the personality.

Lapis Lazuli helps to move your consciousness beyond the mundane and allows you to identify habits, patterns and lessons you may have difficulty perceiving consciously, and which may be blocking you from making spiritual progress.

Lapis lazuli calms feelings of frustration, agitation and anger. With the stone in hand, you can find ways to deal with the emotional turmoil resulting from abuse (physical, mental and emotional) to heal and find inner peace. The calming energy of lapis lazuli is useful for issues related to inner child work, alcohol and drug addictions. It will help you overcome anger and rage.

It helps you to take responsibility for yourself rather than blaming others for missed opportunities. Lapis lazuli stones are stones of truth and inspire honesty in written and spoken words and the spirit.

Lapis Lazuli crystal helps us go deep within our spirits to awaken our true destiny and divine purpose. Lapis Lazuli assists with attaining inner peace, honour, wisdom, truth, spirit and vision. Some say the stones are recommended by Buddhists to help people find inner peace and dispel negative thoughts.

Lapis Lazuli stones are believed to encourage good judgement and wisdom, assist in problem solving, intellectual analysis and coming up with new ideas. They can contribute to a learning state of mind and sparking a desire for new knowledge. The ability to understand new things and remember what has been learned is also enhanced.

Worry/Thumb Stones:-

Thumb Stones/Worry Stones are smooth, polished gemstones, usually in the shape of an oval with a thumb-sized indentation, used for relaxation or anxiety relief. They are used by holding the stone between the index finger and thumb and gently moving one's thumb back and forth across the stone. This action of moving one's thumb back and forth across the stone can reduce stress. Other names that worry stones may be called are: thumb stones, fidget stones, soothing stones, or sensory stones.

As a folk practise implement, worry stones have many origins. Variations on the concept originate in Ancient Greece, Ireland, Tibet and multiple Native American Tribes. The concept of a worry stone began by the simple action of picking a smooth stone and fiddling with the stone. Native American tribes would continuously give them to younger generations, creating a sense of connection from previous family members. They also believed these worry stones were considered a sacred item and they were extra special if they were made out of quartz.

From the perspective of cognitive behaviour therapy the use of worry stones is one of many folk practises that can function as psychologically healthy self-soothing exercises. Such techniques are imparted at an early stage of treatment, displacing any familiar but destructive coping methods (nail-biting, scratching, lip-biting, etc.) that the patient may have developed. Worry stones are simple and intuitive enough to be useful in therapeutic contexts where complexity and unfamiliarity are paramount concerns, such as when offering short-term treatment to refugees or people with post-traumatic stress conditions.

After a patient has mastered a more sophisticated relaxation script for anxiety management, the worry stone itself can serve as a physical 'relaxation script reminder' - the patient may notice an impulse to use the object, and thereby become aware of their own anxiety. The rubbing of the stone can create a sense of relaxation making the mind more relaxed and generating a sense of calmness. There are also people that may use them during meditation practises, this is known to centre a personepids concentration benefiting the meditation
