Indonesian Fossilised Palm Tree Pendants 1A
Please message me prior to completion of your order for details on how to save on shipping costs by purchasing multiple items from my store.
These awesome cabochon pendants have been created from the fossilised root system of an extinct palm from Indonesia. The dramatic contrasting colours make this pieces spectacular and I find the material to be similar to the Opalised Wood from Springsure in Queensland Australia rather than the heavy, darker, more traditional Petrified Wood that most people are familiar with.
Each piece will be supplied on the chord as shown and supplied with a woven bag to store your pendant when you are not wearing it.
Fossil, (from the Latin fossus, literally ”having been dug up”) are the mineralized or otherwise preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms. In ancient times they were believed to be a gift from the stars and were revered by many cultures. Because of their age they have been used throughout the centuries as a talisman for protection and long life.\n\nFossilization is actually a rare occurrence because organic materials tend to decompose and the process requires the relatively quick preservation of bodily remains. Normally, the remains need to be covered by sediment or trapped in resin as soon as possible. However there are exceptions to this, such as if an organism comes to rest in an anoxic (without oxygen) environment at the bottom of a lake. The oldest known structured fossils date from 3.5 billion years ago. There are several different types of fossils and fossilization processes including permineralisation, mold or replacement fossils, compression fossils, resin fossils and trace fossils. Many fossils available on the market are from Morocco, which has vast deposits of Devonian Limestone which date back three hundred fifty million years ago.
Fossils are a wonderful tool to assist you in moving from the old to the new and to be receptive to the fresh, innovative forces that are available to you. They can help you instil quality and excellence in your environment.
Most fossils are created when the biological material of a plant, insect or animal is replace by opal, chalcedony or other minerals over millennia. The mineral takes on the form of the biological matter within the surrounding rock formations or within sedimentary layers.\nAmber, Jet, Petrified Wood, Sand dollars, and Ammonites are some examples of fossils.
Revered by many cultures for centuries, fossils, because of their age, are often used as talismans for protection and long life. They are links to the past and, as such, can be helpful for past-life visualisation, astral travel and increased knowledge of ancient ways. Fossils are associated with the earth element, which can heighten your intuition, especially when learning about crystals.
Use fossils around a home or at work to create a harmonious and organised atmosphere. They can teach us to be aware of the cycle of life and to embrace change with a feeling of security.
