This Ruby in Fuchsite wand is a beautiful rich colour with wonderful contrast and a very pleasant shape.

Fuchsite a green variety of Muscovite Mica, which often forms into other well known rocks/crystals. It differs from most other Muscovite Mica by having a variable amount of Trivalent Chromium substituting for Aluminium, which is the source of Fuchsite’s green colour. As the amount of chromium increases, the green colour becomes stronger and ranges to a rich emerald green when abundant chromium is present.

Fuchsite is found in Phyllites and Schists in Metamorphic rocks In most instances it occurs as tiny grains scattered through the rock mass, but occasionally rocks composed almost entirely of fuchsite are found. These green fuchsite-rich rocks are also known as Verdite. Sometimes small platelets of fuchsite or other green micas are suspended in quartz to produce Green Aventurine. When bright red Corundum crystals are found in Fuchsite the material is known as Ruby in Fuchsite.

Fuchsite is one of the most commonly misspelled and pronounced minerals. The material is named after Johann Nepomuk von Fuchs, a German chemist and mineralogist. His name is pronounced “fooks” - similar to the way you pronounce “books” and “looks.”

Ruby is an intense Heart crystal, which brings joy, vigour and love of life. It creates a powerful heart connection with the divine, while helping us to keep our feet on the ground, and is very good for working from the heart on a spiritual level. Ruby can support our energy levels when we are run down, but on its own may be a little too powerful. A specimen with a matrix of green zoisite or fuchsite can help to balance this.

Mica is an excellent protection mineral, as it is not only insulating, but its reflective surface also deflects negative energy and psychic attack. Because of its non-conductivity, it is also very helpful in creating a shield from electromagnetic radiation.

The mirror-like quality also facilitates self-reflection and deep inner work. It can help us to recognise when our thoughts or behaviour is being mirrored back to us by others, and also when it is appropriate as a practitioner to mirror back to our clients. In addition to the properties of mica, the green colour makes Fuchsite even more heart-centred than ordinary muscovite, and amplifies its quality of acceptance. It helps us to see and accept the flaws in humanity while still allowing us to feel love and compassion. In this capacity, it can assist us in finding solutions to problems during interaction with others. Chromium lifts the spirits, balances, boosts the immune system, and is particularly helpful in treating skin conditions.

Together, Ruby and Fuchsite make a powerful balancer for the emotions and the immune system.
