Prehnite is a inosilicate of calcium and aluminium. Prehnite crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system, and most oftens forms as stalactitic or botryoidal aggregates, with only just the crests of small crystals showing any faces, which are almost always curved or composite. Very rarely will it form distinct, well individualized crystals showing a square-like cross-section. Prehnite displays a vitreous to pearly lustre and its colour usually varies from light green to yellow, It is mostly translucent, and rarely transparent.

Epidote is a calcium aluminium iron silicate hydroxide and wasn’t identified as a seperate mineral until the beginning of the nineteenth century. Occurring as prismatic, slender grooved crystals and as fibrous radiating aggregates Epidote is found in many worldwide locations. Epidote appears in the colour range from yellowish-green to greenish-black, the crystals have a vitreous lustre and are translucent to transparent.
