Another stunning example of incredible Fluorite from the Fujian Province, China. This particular specimen is known as ‘Morandi’ Fluorite and is on a druzy dark grey Sphalerite and Quartz Matrix combination. This piece also contains a secondary coating of druzy Quartz resulting in the ‘ice’ or ‘sugar’ appearance as it is commonly known. As Clear Quartz is an amplifier crystal the “Sugar Coating” on this piece is an added bonus.

The name “Morandi Fluorite” is attributed to this type of material in reference to Giorgio Morandi, an Italian painter famous for his subtle and muted colour palettes. Morandi fluorite exhibits a similar range of soft, pastel colours, including teal blue, soft purples, and pastel greens. This type of Fluorite is found in the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia and the Yongchun area in Fujian, China and is highly sought after by collectors.

Fluorite:-

Fluorite is composed of calcium fluoride and is a member of the Halide family. It is transparent to translucent with a vitreous lustre, and crystallizes in well-formed isometric cubes, nodules, clusters, or in massive form. It is the only common mineral with perfect cleavage in four directions, a characteristic that may be visible to the naked eye in clear stones as subtle etchings permeating the entire crystal. This cleavage frequently produces perfect octahedrons, and more rarely dodecahedrons and other complex forms, including penetration twins as if one cube were growing into or out of another. Fluorite is the reference mineral for a hardness of four on the Mohs Hardness Scale, making it too soft for everyday wear as a gem, though it is carved into wonderful faceted stones and sold as collector’s specimens or used in jewellery that is not subject to impact or abrasion.

Hailed as “the most colourful mineral in the world,” Fluorite forms in a wide variety of hues, typically purple, green, yellow, blue, and in pure form - colourless, though specimens of pink, red, white, brown and black also occur. It is frequently multi-coloured with bands, or zones, of colour that intermingle. Impurities, exposure to radiation, and voids in the colour centres determine Fluorite’s colour and help give it a wonderful luminous quality. Its crystals were some of the first specimens studied for the phenomenon of “fluorescence,” which was named for Fluorite, and are thought to be caused when trace amounts of yttrium, cerium, europium, or other rare earth elements substitute for calcium in the mineral structure. Some varieties of Fluorite may also be phosphorescent, thermoluminescent and/or triboluminescent.

Fluorite occurs in large deposits in many locations around the world, most commonly as vein fillings in rocks that have been subjected to hydrothermal activity and contain metallic ores such as Lead, Zinc, Silver, Galena, or Sphalerite. It may also be associated with Barite, Quartz and Calcite, among others, and is often a primary or secondary mineral in marbles, granites, dolostone and limestone. Originally known as Fluorspar or Fluorospar, Fluorite is primarily an industrial mineral with a low melting point deriving its name from the Latin fleure, meaning “to flow,” and refers to its use as a flux in the steel and aluminium smelting processes. It has numerous uses in the ceramic and chemical industries as a source of fluoride, fluorine and hydrofluoric acid, and for use in glazes, enamels and speciality glass. High quality Fluorite is also used in making top grade optical lenses for cameras, microscopes, and telescopes. The term “Fluorspar” is still commonly used in the industrial and chemical trades, while “Fluorite” is used for mineralogical, lapidary and most other references.

Fluorite is one of the most collectible and highly sought after crystals in the world, loved by mineralogists and metaphysical healers alike. Its remarkable cubes are at times, almost too perfect to believe, emerging like magic treasure in matrix rock, or tightly stacked cube on cube like a futuristic city in miniature. Fluorite is an extraordinary creation of Nature, beautiful and luminous, soft and glassy, often vibrant in colour, with an internal structure of order and perfection that resonates with the human mind like no other crystal. It carries a calm, stable frequency that brings order to chaos, and scattered and discordant energies into cohesion and harmony. Fluorite supports spirituality and thought, focus and concentration, and balance in all aspects of one’s life.

Known as the “Genius Stone,” Fluorite represents the highest state of mental achievement, boosting aptitude and discernment, the absorption of new information, and helping one work through complex issues. Its energy stimulates the electrical charge of brain cells, drawing in more life force (prana) as it encourages both hemispheres to work harmoniously together in balance. Expanding the consciousness, it advances the mind to greater mental, spiritual and psychic awareness. It stirs creativity and provides a limitless range of avenues for exploration. Fluorite forms in many colour varieties, and while each manifests its abilities in different ways, all serve the mental body, brain and energetic levels of being.

Keep the creative juices flowing by meditating with the Fluorite crystal, a stone that gives order to chaos. Sit quietly with Fluorite and call on its gentle healing powers to help you coordinate your physical and mental abilities. As you inhale, imagine its white light of healing vibrations infusing your spirit with its energizing waves of clarity and rejuvenation. When you meditate with Fluorite, it reminds you to step away from the canvas to see the bigger picture. As you exhale, imagine your feelings of confusion and frustration evolving into a sense of peace that comes from its green shades, a colour that evokes the spirit of deep tropical seas.

Fluorite cleanses and stabilises the aura, absorbs and neutralises negative energy and stress.  An excellent learning aid, Fluorite increases our powers of concentration, self-confidence and helps us in decision-making.  It encourages positivity, balances the energies, and improves balance and coordination, both physically and mentally.

Clear Quartz:-

Clear Quartz, pure silicon dioxide, is also called Rock Crystal or Ice Crystal, from the Greek word “krystallos”, meaning “ice”, because crystal was believed to be water frozen so hard it could never thaw. For all its variety, when most people speak of “crystals”, they are usually referring to Rock Crystal (Clear Quartz), the six-sided prisms of pure light and energy known as the Perfect Jewel. In its sparkling light is contained the entire colour spectrum.

Resonating at the level of an individual’s needs, Clear Quartz also amplifies whatever energy or intent is programmed into it, and continues to broadcast that energy throughout the world and into the etheric realms. This may accelerate the fulfilment of one’s prayers, intensify healing or spiritual growth, or simply allow the crystal to hold a pattern of energy long enough and strongly enough for the manifestation of a goal to occur.

Clear Quartz encourages clarity of thought and purpose to one’s heart and mind. It works on all levels of the energetic and physical bodies and resonates with all chakras. Clear Quartz will amplify any energy with which it moves into resonance, including other stones, constantly broadcasting that energy into the Earths electromagnetic field. This makes Clear Quartz an excellent stone to use for healing, manifestation or prayer work. Clear Quartz helps to establish a strong, clear connection to higher guidance.

Clear Quartz has been used as a healing tool since the Ancient times. In Shamanic practises Clear Quartz is referred to as the “light-stone”, an instrument of clairvoyance. Clear Quartz was traditionally used by Australian Aborigines and the Prairie Indians of North America as a talisman for visionary work. The Navajo believed it to be Clear Quartz that first caused the Sun to cast its light upon the world. The six sided hexagonal shape of Quartz crystal points allow them to hold a programme or intention, to magnify that energy and radiate it out into the surrounding area.

Clear Quartz is excellent for amplifying the energies of other stones or to enhance groups of stones, and is ideal for gridding. It is the perfect base material for wands, staffs, templates, etc., and clear crystal spheres have long been used for crystal gazing. Because Clear Quartz has the prismatic ability to vibrate its energy at all of the colour frequencies, it not only harmonises all of the chakras, but can teach us how to vibrate our seven chakra centres simultaneously while maintaining perfect alignment with the light.
