This piece weighs 75g and measures 6.5cm x 4cm x 3cm.

China is well known throughout the world for many quality Fluorite deposits. These wonderful specimens are from the Xia Yang Mine, Xia Yang city, Quanzhou, Fujian, China. The crystals have wonderful structure with colour ranging from clear through various shades of blue and purple. The crystals themselves are perched amongst beds of super fine needles of Quartz points, (which are very sharp). After filming these specimens I had several pieces of needle Quartz embedded into my hands, which is not easy and also very uncomfortable and difficult to remove.

Fluorite, (also called fluorspar) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, CaF2. It belongs to the Halide minerals. It crystallizes in isometric cubic habit, although octahedral and more complex isometric forms are not uncommon. Rainbow Fluorite exhibits a combination of colors inherent in Fluorite crystals, such as purple, blue, green, clear and yellow and, as such, it blends all of the properties of each colour.
