Syenite with Sodalite:-

This material is always marketed as ‘Yooperlite’. Now this may surprise you but ‘Yooperlite’ is actually a trademarked brand of what is officially known as a “syenite rock rich with fluorescent Sodalite”. But if you’re unsure of what exactly it is we’re talking about here, a ‘Yooperlite’, in short, is a special kind of fluorescent rock that will display a strong orange glow when subjected to UV light.

This fascinating discovery is owed to Michigan man Erik Rintamaki, who also holds the aforementioned trademark name. The material was first discovered by Erik along the banks of Lake Superior but has since been found in other locations, mainly in Greenland and China.

Sodalite is not classified as rock, but as a deep blue mineral that is cut and carved as statues, pyramids, and obelisks. Sodalite if often confused with Lapis Lazuli because of the similar colour tones and sometimes sold as the much more expensive Lapis Lazuli by unscrupulous or uninformed merchants.

The name Sodalite reflects this mineral's Sodium content and was named by a Glasgow chemist, Professor Thomas Thomson, who had been hired by the British to identify the stone after they had captured a shipment of it being sent from Greenland to Denmark during the Napoleonic Wars.  Although first discovered and recorded in 1806 in Greenland, it took until 1891 for this attractive deep blue stone to become important in the world of ornamental stones.  It was then that it was found in vast deposits in Ontario, Canada, by Frank D. Adams, during the Geological Survey of Canada.  Later, as it was chosen as an interior decoration for the Marlborough House in England by Princess Patricia who had been visiting Ontario at the time and who had fallen in love with the stone, many began to refer to it as "Princess Blue".  Sodalite has also been called "Canadian Blue Stone" or simply "Bluestone".

Sodalite encourages being true to self and standing up for your beliefs. A stone of self-expression and confidence, Sodalite can aid in issues of self-worth, self-acceptance, and self-esteem. Sodalite promotes intuition and a trust in one's own judgment, which can be a great ally in daily life. Sodalite helps to achieve emotional balance, releasing old conditioning and programming of the past which no longer serves.

A stone of awakening, Sodalite stimulates the Pineal Gland and the Third Eye, and deepens meditation. Sodalite is helpful for those who find themselves to be over-emotional, due to its ability to focus energy on the Third-Eye and Throat Chakras. This will allow one to use more logic and intuition, rather than the emotions from an over-developed Heart Chakra. Sodalite helps to enhance psychic abilities while discouraging any obsession about such abilities.

Sodalite encourages discipline and will in one's personal and public lives, and can be a facilitator of career advancement when used in this manner. Carrying Sodalite during the day can help one to find efficient ways of dealing with daily tasks and problems.

Place Sodalite next to your computer to help clear electromagnetic pollution. Sodalite works with the Throat and Third-Eye Chakras to help and guide one on their spiritual path by opening a window into the subconscious mind, pulling subtle images into the conscious mind. Sodalite can also be an aid to those studying symbolism and its role in the greater scheme, by helping one to become aware of the patterns that can occur over the course of one's life, and their meanings and purposes.

Sodalite brings order and calmness to the mind.  It encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with verbalisation of feelings.  Sodalite brings emotional balance and calms panic attacks.  It enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.

Buddha Symbolism:

Because ‘Buddha’ is not merely a name but also a title, sculptures of Buddha are meant to symbolise the process by which one can get a comprehensive and profound understanding of life. Hence not only do the statues and images of Buddha serve as physical representations or depictions of how Buddha appeared in his physical form, but they also serve as symbols of Buddha's teachings, good fortune, inner peace, and the motivating force that should be present in every human being.

Buddhism is consistently ranked among the most followed faiths in every region of the world. Buddhism, which was founded by Gautama Buddha on the Indian subcontinent between the 5th and 6th century B.C., quickly spread throughout Asia and is now the predominant religion in many Asian nations, including Japan, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Tibet, to name just a few.

Buddhism has emerged as one of the most prominent religions in the world. The Buddha's teachings are responsible for this rise in popularity. I am not going to delve deeply into the teachings of the Buddha as it is complex and there are many subtleties that I do not wish to misspeak.

This is a very, very basic summary:- Buddhist teachings revolve around the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, both of which aim to guide individuals towards enlightenment and the cessation of suffering. The Four Noble Truths explain the nature of suffering, its causes, the possibility of its end, and the path to achieve it. The Eightfold Path provides a practical framework for living a life of mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom, ultimately leading to liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
