This piece weighs 338g and has a diameter of 6.2cm.

Calcite with Aragonite is not a hard material - between 3 and 4 on the Moss hardness scale, depending on the formation process and location. Compare this to a Clear Quartz, Smokey Quartz or Amethyst at around 7 and you will appreciate the difficulty is creating these magnificent pieces. I have never seen any Calcite with Aragonite with the sheer number of vugs and varied hardnesses shaped and polished so beautifully.

Aragonite is a polymorph of Calcite. That means the two minerals have the exact same chemical composition, CaCO3, but they crystallize differently in different crystal shapes.
