This specimen weighs 228g and measures 8cm x 8cm x 5cm.

I have secured three of these interesting specimens of Calcite on Goethite from Daye County, Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China. This area is a well known mineralised zone that produces a variety of materials for collectors and several commercial mining operations operate in the area.

Calcite:-

Calcite is clear, whitish, or pale grey, but can take on different shades of gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown, or even black. This is due to microscopic quantities of other minerals or metals contained within the crystal matrix which makes the energy shift and it takes on unique characteristics.

Calcite is a family of calcium carbonates that occurs in a wide range of colors and formations. Most commonly it occurs in opaque masses but it can occur in a wide array of crystalline habits. Calcite is a soft mineral, with a Mohs hardness of 3. Because of its relative softness it is often carved or polished. Rough pieces are usually given an acid bath which softens the rough edges and give the stones a silky sheen.

Calcite has an amazing energy that refreshes and revitalizes, yet is still gentle. They help to remove blockages and break up old patterns. The wide range of colors ensures there is a calcite for every chakra. These strong yet gentle healers are easy to work with no matter your age, and even vibrate well with our feathered and furry friends. Calcite is a great all round healer and can be found in a wide array of colors. Energize your body’s natural electrical system using this crystal in your hands, at your feet or chakra point. You may use spheres, eggs and wands for massage. Placing your feet on a large piece will energize the whole body out of sight. Calcite comes in many colors, forms and locations. It is a crystal of fantastic variety and each one has its own benefits. Due to its electrical nature, Calcite makes for a potent elixir. Calcite is a crystal to help one get out of ruts, or break through blockages on just about any level. It is also a crystal for ascension.

Calcite is a stone of promise. It works hard to help and support its keeper in many ways. A stone that is often grounding, comforting and settling, resonating often with its keeper on an earthly level, Calcite makes a wonderful support towards moving through daily life. It is a stone that can settle with many beings contently, especially as it tends to work in the here and now, while keeping they're feet on the ground at all times. Calcite is very stable and universal in its energy, and although it does differ in its forms, the undertones remain the same.

Clear Calcite shares many of the same attributes as Clear Quartz, in terms of amplifying energy and facilitating manifestation. Clear Calcite removes energetic blocks and cleanses the entire Chakra system and aura. It is a stone for clear seeing, helping us to understand our true path and what steps we need to take to journey well. Clear Calcite’s exquisite energy helps us to surrender to the Divine and trust that all will be well. It can also speed up our spiritual development and increase intuitive skills.

Clear Calcite gently releases fear-based beliefs, particularly those surrounding love and happiness. Anyone who fears they will never find love or has ever been ashamed of their good fortune would do well to work with this stone. It encourages us to be more loving and forgiving, towards ourselves as well as others, and also to celebrate the good things that happen. Clear Calcite has a calming and strengthening energy that can help us to keep moving forward despite setbacks. It reminds us to trust ourselves to make good choice and to trust the Divine to aid us along the way.

Goethite:-

Goethite, correctly pronounced ger-tite, is a naturally occurring iron oxide mineral that takes on various forms and colours. It forms through the oxidation of Iron in the presence of water and oxygen and can be found all over the world and is abundant on Mars.

Named in 1806 by Johann Georg Lenz in honour of the German poet, novelist, playwrighter, philosopher, politician, and geoscientist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe [August 28, 1749, Frankfurt, Germany – March 22, 1832, Weimar, Germany].

Goethite is an Iron hydroxide mineral that crystallizes in the form of masses, botryoidal, stalactites, and rarely, small prismatic crystals. The colour of Goethite ranges from black, brown and silver, to lighter colours such as red, yellowish brown, and orange.

Goethite has been used for thousands of years by many different civilizations. It was a popular pigment used to colour paint, with some notable artefacts found containing Goethite within. The famous Caves of Lascaux in France contain numerous cave paintings of animals and human figures drawn with Hematite and Goethite pigment. These drawings are estimated to be over 16,000 years old.

Goethite is an enchanting stone of emotional healing, grounding and support. Its strong connection to the Earth element through your Root Chakra will bring immense emotional support during times of grief, heartbreak, loss, trauma and recovery. Goethite is one of the best stones for healing after the loss of a loved one. It helps you connect with the infinite healing energy of the Earth. Goethite is a great ally for empaths with its rejuvinating and protective energy.

Goethite transforms negative emotions and releasing old patterns that no longer serve us. Its grounding properties help to stabilise emotional distress, allowing for a more balanced and centred emotional state. Goethite stimulates your creative flow and helps you break through any blocks. Its energy supports vitality and well-being, promoting a sense of balance and harmony within the body.
