These pieces have a relatively matte finish, which I personally quite like as it reaffirms their natural origins without too much human tampering. Also, due to the conglomerate nature of this material a great deal of items for sale currently show the white lines or very small patches. This white material is simple hardened polish that remains in the tiny areas that are not 100% smooth. Anyone who has worked with stone, especially polishing slabs will know that it is absolutely critical to have the material as smooth as possible, otherwise the piece will not take a great polish.

Having said that I still think these pieces are awesome, but I have marked them at a much cheaper price than most in order to move them quickly.

This particular material is known as “Bamboo Jasper” or “Bamboo Leaf Jasper”, named for the appearance of bamboo stalks contained within and is sourced from Jiangsu Province, China. Bamboo Jasper is a chert/jasper formation that presents itself as a mineral conglomerate.
