Worry/Thumb Stones are smooth, polished gemstones, usually in the shape of an oval with a thumb-sized indentation, used for relaxation or anxiety relief. They are used by holding the stone between the index finger and thumb and gently moving one's thumb back and forth across the stone. This action of moving one's thumb back and forth across the stone can reduce stress. Other names that worry stones may be called are: thumb stones, fidget stones, soothing stones, or sensory stones.

As a folk practise implement, worry stones have many origins. Variations on the concept originate in Ancient Greece, Ireland, Tibet and multiple Native American Tribes. The concept of a worry stone began by the simple action of picking a smooth stone and fiddling with the stone. Native American tribes would continuously give them to younger generations, creating a sense of connection from previous family members. They also believed these worry stones were considered a sacred item and they were extra special if they were made out of quartz.

From the perspective of cognitive behaviour therapy the use of worry stones is one of many folk practises that can function as psychologically healthy self-soothing exercises. Such techniques are imparted at an early stage of treatment, displacing any familiar but destructive coping methods (nail-biting, scratching, lip-biting, etc.) that the patient may have developed. Worry stones are simple and intuitive enough to be useful in therapeutic contexts where complexity and unfamiliarity are paramount concerns, such as when offering short-term treatment to refugees or people with post-traumatic stress conditions. After a patient has mastered a more sophisticated relaxation script for anxiety management, the worry stone itself can serve as a physical 'relaxation script reminder' - the patient may notice an impulse to use the object, and thereby become aware of their own anxiety. The rubbing of the stone can create a sense of relaxation making the mind more relaxed and generating a sense of calmness. There are also people that may use them during meditation practises, this is known to centre a persons concentration benefiting the meditation.

Kambaba Jasper:-

Also known as Kambaba Stone or Green Stromatolite Jasper, is an extremely old stone dating back more than 2 billion years ago. The green and black swirling colour pattern can have some crystal collectors confusing this stone with Malachite or Nebula Stone.

Kambaba Jasper is actually not a Jasper, but rather a fossil. This stone is classified as a stromatolite, which refers to the clump of fossilized algae that created this mineral. One of the special fossils within Kambaba Jasper is actually Cyanobacteria, which is believed to have helped create the first oxygen atmosphere here on earth many moons ago. Other minerals within this special combination of stones are usually Quartz, Feldspar, Cristobalite, and Albite.

The exact discovery date and locality of this stone is unknown, however Kambaba Jasper is found in South Africa, Madagascar, and the small sea in which divides the two. The origin of the stone’s name is also heavily debated, with the leading theory suggesting Kambaba Jasper was named after Cheitharol Kambaba. Cheitharol Kambaba is the court chronicle of the kings of Manipur, India and has been around for thousands of years.

There is a common misconception between Kambaba Jasper and Nebula Stone, with many dealers on the market even selling Kambaba Jasper as Nebula Stone. Both of these minerals couldn’t be more different than one another! For starters, Nebula Stone has the same colour combination, just reversed. Instead of primarily green with black “eyes” and swirling patterns throughout, Nebula stone is mainly black with tiny green “eyes” spotted throughout. When it comes to chemistry, both these stones are made up of completely different minerals. As stated above, Kambaba Jasper is mainly Quartz and Feldspar with other tiny mineral inclusions. Nebula Stone on the other hand is made up of Aegirine, Potassium Feldspar, Zircon, Arfedsonite, Riebeckite, and Anorthoclase. Lastly, Nebula Stone is much more valuable and precious than it’s Jasper “twin”. The locality of Nebula Stone is proprietary and is still kept secret within the family who discovered it. This drives the price of the stone up considerably, which also leads to the mis-labelling of Kambala Jasper as Nebula Stone. When trying to purchase either of these stones, it's important to know who your buying from and the authenticity of the stones you're interested in purchasing.

Fossils:-

Fossil, (from Latin fossus, literally ”having been dug up”) are the mineralised or otherwise preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms. In ancient times they were believed to be a gift from the stars and were revered by many cultures. Because of their age they have been used throughout the centuries  as a talisman for protection and long life.

Stromatolites hold eternal knowledge. This stone takes you back to the far ages of our planet and helps you to deeply go into closely guarded ancestral secrets. An excellent support stone while going through change, stromatolite encourages you to stand in your own power so you can fulfill your soul goals on a personal and a planetary level.

This is a very soft, soothing stone with the ability to reconnect you to the primordial state of earth, the first forms of life, and your own past lives. It is excellent for seeing, physical and psychic. Stromatolite helps relieve stress, rehydrating the body with base zero point frequency of earth’s origins.

This gentle stone can help you release outdated ancestral programming and mental programmes which insist you conform to someone else’s agenda.

These stromatolite pieces summon the energies of acceptance, helping you to understand life lessons and live your life with an open mind and heart, allowing new possibilities to emerge. They resonate most with the Root and Heart Chakras, cleansing these energy centres to allow for increased flow between them. Many of these pieces combine two or three fossils into one, which is special for the sacred geometry and numerology of twos and threes.

The green energy of Kambaba Jasper is associated with the Heart Chakra located near the centre of the breastbone. It regulates our interaction with the external world and controls what we embrace and what we resist. It gives us the balancing ability to be ourselves within the environment. When the Heart Chakra is out of balance we may feel either controlling or controlled in a relationship, and become critical of the little foibles of others. We may find ourselves having inappropriately strong emotional responses to everyday external stimuli. Green crystal energy is used to resolve blockages and to re-balance the Heart Chakra, helping us understand our own needs and emotions clearly.  We can deal with the ebbs and flows of emotional relationships, understand their cyclic nature, and accept the changes.

Kambaba Jasper is known for its ability to calm and soothe emotional upheaval. For those sensitive to its vibration, it creates a special aura, a pleasant sensation as it irradiates throughout the body. It invites feelings of compassion and patience, humility, and even generosity.

Kambaba Jasper is a stone of spiritual confidence, drawing upon the wisdom of ancestral energies held within its crystal layers to align the inner peace inherent in one’s nature. It encourages happiness and activates the ability to attract prosperity and abundance to one’s life.

Kambaba Jasper is also an excellent grounding stone for use in ancient places, both natural and created by humans, for connecting to those who once lived there. It is highly protective against psychic danger or negative entities, especially if one senses past evil practises in a building or area, or suddenly finds oneself in the wrong place.

Kambaba Jasper has a special relationship with Mother Nature and attuning you to her frequencies. Especially recommended is to meditate with this stone outside, especially during times of dusk and dawn (the two most high energy times on Earth each day). Meditating with Nature will help raise one's awareness about their environment and the people within it. This crystal helps teach us to start taking in our surroundings. So easily do we get distracted with technology and socializing that we forget who and where we are. Meditating with Kambala Jasper will help strengthen your connection to the outside world, as well as becoming more connected to the people and animals within it.
