The synthesis of azurite and malachite produces a mineral which is said to exhibit the properties of each individual stone, plus some which come uniquely from their partnership.

United as azurite-malachite, this mineral blends different traits together, freshens the user's outlook on life, as well as dissolving egocentric characteristics; dispelling conceit, arrogance and vanity; calming anxiety and enhancing flexibility in motion and thought.

Azurite-Malachite is an exceptional conductor of energy, bringing a grounded, more integrated energy. The blue ray penetrates and moves energy, calming stress levels within the system while the green ray facilitates a deep healing force. It may also be used to activate the Third Eye in cleansing the subconscious of emotionally charged thoughts or negative feelings, and restoring a higher and clearer mental state. Malachite is a green, common secondary copper mineral with a widely variable habit. Typically it is found as crystalline aggregates or crusts, often banded in appearance, like agates. It is also often found as botryoidal clusters of radiating crystals, and as mammillary aggregates as well.  Named in antiquity by Pliny the Elder 79 CE as molochitus after the Greek ”mallows” in allusion to the green colour of the leaves.  Known in the new spelling, malachites, at least by 1661.  Malachite is a green and common secondary copper mineral with widely variable habit.  Frequently found as a pseudomorph after Azurite crystals, which are generally more tabular in shape.

The name Malachite may come from the Greek word malakee, or malache, signifying the resemblance of Mallow leaves, or from the Greek word malakos, meaning soft. Being a carbonate of copper, Malachite is sometimes intergrown with Azurite, forming Malachite-Azurite, or with Chrysocolla, forming Malachite-Chrysocolla.

Well known to ancient Egyptians, Malachite mines were in use between the Suez and Sinai as early as 4000 B.C. It was also popular with the ancient Greeks and Romans, for jewellery, ornaments, and in powdered form, for eye shadow. In the Middle Ages, Malachite was believed to protect against the "Evil Eye" and to cure various stomach ailments. Russian czars used Malachite for ornaments and paneling for their castles, and intricate inlay work.

Azurite is also a copper based mineral with a deep blue colour note, produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. During the early 19th century, it was also known as chessylite, after the common location near Lyon, France. The mineral has been known since ancient times, and was mentioned in Pliny the Elder’s Natural History under the Greek name kuanos (κυανός: "deep blue," root of English cyan) and the Latin name caeruleum. Since antiquity, azurite's exceptionally deep and clear blue has been associated with low-humidity desert and winter skies. The modern English name of the mineral reflects this association, since both azurite and azure are derived via Arabic from the Persian lazhward (لاژورد), an area known for its deposits of another deep-blue stone, Lapis Lazuli ("stone of azure").

To the inhabitants of Atlantis and the early Egyptians, Azurite was a most potent psychic stone and shrouded in mystery; its secrets known only to the highest priests and priestesses. It was called the Stone of Heaven by the ancient Chinese who believed it to open celestial gateways, and was revered by Greeks and Romans for its visionary insights and healing powers.
