This material is Epidote and not Green Tourmaline as it is often labelled to attract a premium price. Online wholesalers will often sell this material as Green Tourmaline which unfortunately only increases the confusion and misconception. To people who have been in the industry for a long time the difference is extremely obvious and the incorrect labelling is extremely frustrating - as you can probably tell :).

These beautiful, high grade dark green Epidote crystal clusters have been sourced from the Kharan region, Balochistan, Pakistan. This material displays great form, are a wonderful colour tone and I have selected a range of sizes to accommodate a variety of budgets.

Epidote is a calcium aluminium iron silicate hydroxide and wasn’t identified as a seperate mineral until the beginning of the nineteenth century. Occurring as prismatic, slender grooved crystals and as fibrous radiating aggregates Epidote is found in many worldwide locations. Epidote appears in the colour range from yellowish-green to greenish-black, the crystals have a vitreous lustre and are translucent to transparent.

Epidote’s name comes from the Greek word ‘epidosis. It means increase oraddition. It’s also known as Pistacite because of its pistachio green color. Green is the most common color of Epidote, but there are Epidote stones that are almost black, yellow green, or dark green in color. It can be pearly transparent to almost opaque.

Epidote is a catalyst for change, and once you have clarified your ideals, it will aid you to manifest your dreams into reality. Helping you to learn that if you raise your vibration, you can be enabled to completely change your reality via the action of your thoughts and actions.
