This beautiful carving weighs 252g and measures 6cm x 6cm x 5.5cm and represents the Nine Tailed Fox.

The Nine-Tailed Fox, Chinese (九尾狐, jiǔwěihú) is a mythical entity originating from Chinese Mythology. Also known as Kitsune in Japanese and Kumiho in Korean, is a powerful mythical creature with varied interpretations in East Asian folklore. The nine tails are said to represent wisdom and magical prowess.

In Chinese folklores, foxes are depicted as spirits possessed of magic powers. The number nine in Chinese culture often signifies totality, and the nine tails of the fox are believed to symbolize a high level of spiritual development and power. These foxes are often depicted as mischievous, usually tricking other people, with the ability to disguise themselves as a beautiful man or woman.

In the Qin Dynasty, the nine-tailed fox was an auspicious symbol. The appearance of a nine-tailed fox symbolizes peace and prosperity in the world. According to the ancient illustrated book of Ruiying Tupu《瑞应图谱》, when the king is over-distracted by beauty, the nine-tailed fox would arrive (王者不倾于色,则九尾狐至). Another record in the old book Furuizhi 《宋书·符瑞志》reveals “The white fox would arrive if the king is both benevolent and wise (白狐,王者仁智则至).”

The nine-tailed fox is also a sign of marriage and love, and whoever marries a nine-tailed fox would have many children and many grandchildren. In the legend, a monarch called Yu did not get married until he reached the age of thirty. He saw a nine-tailed fox in a place called Tushan, and he thought it was an auspicious sign of a king so he married a woman in Tushan. The nine-tailed fox witnessed the love between Yu and the Tushan woman.

Picture Jasper:-

Picture Jasper brings calming energy that helps one focus on their creative work, it calms, stabilizes, and inspires. This stone nurtures and supports during stressful periods of time and helps guide that energy into a positive form of communication. All Jaspers enhance feelings of support and wholeness, they are also known to bring protection from negative energy. Jasper heals by helping us feel complete and safe, these gemstones amp courage and stimulate determination.

Picture Jasper gets its name from the vibrant colours which resemble a picture, or print. The mottled patterns and swirls in Picture Jasper are said to be reminiscent of natural scenes from the earth, especially landscapes. It was given this name because it is composed of bands of microscopic quartz crystals that were tightly packed together in an alternating pattern like tiles on a floor.

Picture Jasper carries a strong connection to Earth energies and as such can help bring harmony to your life on many levels. What sets this stone apart from many other Jasper varieties is its extraordinary banding or veining which is created by silicate or petrified mud and the often inclusion of dendrites.

Picture-Jasper’s remarkable colours are because of its high iron content and the level of minerals and impurities present in the stone. It has different shades of brown, so you get a stone that’s brown with some blue, black, tan, or ivory shades present as well. When cut or polished, this stone can show very detailed images on its surface that look very much like scenes or pictures!

In general, Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer”. It sustains and supports during times of stress, and brings tranquility and wholeness. Used in healing, Jasper unifies all aspects of your life. Jasper reminds people to help each other.

The word Jasper comes from “iaspi” a Greek word that means “spotted stone”. Jasper is an opaque rock of virtually any colour stemming from the mineral content of the original sediments or ash. Patterns arise during the consolidation process forming flow and depositional patterns in the original silica rich sediment or volcanic ash, Hydrothermal action is generally thought to be required in the formation of jasper.

Jasper can be modified by the diffusion of minerals along discontinuities providing the appearance of vegetative growth, i.e., dendritic. The original materials are often fractured and/or distorted, after deposition, into diverse patterns, which are later filled in with other colourful minerals. Weathering, with time, will create intensely coloured superficial rinds.

The classification and naming of jasper varieties presents a challenge. Terms attributed to various well-defined materials includes the geographic locality where it is found, sometimes quite restricted such as "Bruneau" (a canyon) and "Lahontan" (a lake), rivers and even individual mountains; many are fanciful, such as "forest fire" or "rainbow", while others are descriptive, such as "autumn" or "porcelain". A few are designated by the place of origin such as a brown Egyptian or red African.

Jasper is often associated with the season of autumn, with grounding and being connected to the energies of the earth. Many people who love Jasper say that it anchors them in the present moment and helps with any tendencies towards over-thinking and worrying about the future. The energy of Jasper is slow, relaxed, and very grounded, bringing comfort and a sense that all is right with your world.

Jasper encourages gratitude, something that is widely held to be extremely beneficial to our mental health. Many of us struggle with the concept of gratitude when we are feeling overwhelmed or badly treated. Jasper can help us to find the little things we need to be grateful for.

Jasper is a good stone to have near you if you feel that things are becoming overwhelming, or that you are close to burning out.Jasper is a balancing stone and can help you to put down any burdens you may be shouldering that are not yours to carry. It helps clear the mind and is a powerful protector against negative feelings, moods, and vibrations.
