This Dendritic Opal Sphere is from Madagascar. Also know as Merlinite, not be confused with Mystic Merlinite (Indigo Gabbro) which is also from Madagascar and is a combination of Quartz and Feldspar with other trace elements. They have a soothing, calming energy that allows introspective exploration to be embraced and not feared.

This piece weighs 162g and measures 7cm x 6cm x 3cm.

Dendritic Opal is a form of common Opal that has dark dendritic, tubular or orbicular markings within the base Opal, which can be composed of Manganese, the dendrites (plumes) often appear to be shaped like mosses, ferns or trees.

Please note that Dendritic Opal is also referred to by the metaphysical name of Merlinite, which is simply a trade name for this material.

Opal is a hydrated silica mineral which comprises of microscopic spheres of silica which are bound together with water and silica and there are two forms of Opal, common and precious. Common Opal is normally opaque the colour range including white, blue, pink, yellow, yellow/orange, brown or black, and all could contain dendrite formations.
