Trilithonite (Lepidolite) with Petalite and Rubellite from the Londonderry Li deposit, Nepean, Coolgardie Shire W.A. Lepidolite is part of a three-part series consisting of Polylithionite, Lepidolite and Trilithionite. All three minerals share similar properties and are caused because of varying ratios of lithium and aluminum in their chemical formulas. The Li:Al ratio varies from 2:1 in polylithionite up to 1.5:1.5 in Trilithionite. Meaning that this material is a form of Lepidolite but has a higher Lithium content than standard Polylithionite or Lepidolite add Petalite and Rubellite into the mix for a truly wonderful stone.
Below I have provided the individual meaning for the three main components of these rough pieces so you can assess the properties of this combination.
Lepidolite:-
Lepidolite is a potassium lithium aluminium silicate hydroxide fluoride that belongs to the mica group of minerals. Lepidolite like other micas, has a layered structure of lithium aluminium silicate sheets weakly bonded together by layers of potassium ions. The crystal habit includes tabular to prismatic crystals with a prominent pinacoid termination. Lepidolite's four prism faces and two pinacoid faces form pseudo-hexagonal crystal "books". The sides of the crystal often tend to tapper. Also as micaceous, lamellar or granular rock forming masses. Lepidolite occurs a lilac, violet, pale pink or white and rarely grey or yellow crystals that have a vitreous to pearly lustre.
Lepidolite was first discovered in 1861 by Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff. Originally called "lilalite" because of its lavender color, it was later named "lepidolite" from the Greek "lepidos"--which means "scale"--because of its scaly appearance caused by flakes of lithium.
Lepidolite is mined as a source of the element lithium along with other rare earth elements such as cesium and rubidium. Lepidolite is an important source of lithium, which is the lightest metal in the world. It is used in rechargeable batteries, mobile phones, toasters, microwave ovens, air purifiers, aircraft parts and is well-known as a mood-stabilizing drug.
Scale back fiery emotions, and let Lepidolite add some balance back into your mind and spirit. When intense feelings flash through you, it can be hard to find a place of calm. With lepidolite meditation, instead of chasing after the calm, the calm finds you, connecting with all of your chakras, aligning them and dissolving energy blocks.
For those who are quick to react, carrying a lepidolite stone in your pocket can help you to take a moment to breathe and think before doing anything. That’s what makes lepidolite an ideal crystal for addicts. It gives you a greater sense of awareness. Where once you might have been inclined to do something, and then worry about the consequences later, the gentle support offered by lepidolite nudges you instead to first consider what your best options are.
The lithium within the chemistry of lepidolite is ultra stabilizing. Whether it’s addiction, stress, obsessive thoughts or another type of negative pattern you often fall into, the lithium within lepidolite will stabilize your emotional state. In this place of active calm, you can be aware, but not reactive. This will give you a moment to make a better decision, and avoid the pitfalls of your past. With a tranquil and harmonious essence, lepidolite aids you in forming a new approach to life with patterns of positivity.
Lepidolite properties are calming and soothing, which makes it the perfect stone to incorporate in your nighttime ritual. Its energy is reminiscent of a lullaby. Like a nurturing hug, it brings you to a state of peace and calm so you can drift off into a sound sleep. The Lepidolite stones meaning also helps you to remember and process your dreams. In your dream state, you can tap into the wisdom of your dreams. Within our dreams lie answers that we are searching for.
Petalite:-
Petalite, also known as castorite, is a lithium aluminum silicate. It is a member of the "Feldspathoid" group. Petalite was first discovered in 1800 by the Brazilian mineralogist JB de Andradae Silva (1763-1838). Its name derives from the Greek words petalon, meaning leaf, (an allusion to its distinctive leaf-like, perfect basal cleavage) and lithos, meaning stone. The discovery of lithium was actually a result of petalite. In 1817, Swedish druggist Johann Arfvedson was analyzing Petalite ore and discovered the lithium within it.
Petalite resembles masses of feldspar and can be easily confused with feldspar. Distinguishing the two is usually done by optical tests. In flame tests, petalite gives off the red flame characteristic of lithium. Petalite crystals have a glassy appearance and occur as tabular or columnar prisms with a vitreous to pearly luster. They can be transparent to translucent and display a fluorescent iridescence. Petalite stones are found in a wide range of colors, from colorless to white, gray, green, greenish-white, yellow, yellow-gray, pink, reddish, and reddish-white. Petalite rates a 6 on the Moh’s hardness scale.
Petalite usually occurs in lithium-bearing granite pegmatites alongside minerals such as Tourmaline, Lepidolite, Spodumene and feldspars. It is found most often in large masses.
Petalite has many physical and emotional attributes. It is a stone that helps cut ties with anyone from past, and supports independence. It enables one to clear negative emotions and lessens emotional sensitivity. Petalite is a stone of compassion, promoting flexibility while maintaining gentle strength.
Petalite is soothing and healing for the emotional body. It is excellent for healing all types of emotional trauma but is particularly valuable for overcoming abuse/victim patterns. It is an ideal protective stone for children overcoming abuse, or who are having difficulty in maintaining their centres in the face of bullying. Petalite brings a frequency of calm self-acceptance and self-love. Its calming qualities can be attributed to its Lithium content. Lithium allows for the calming and balancing of traumatised emotions and energies.
With its mood supporting lithium content, petalite helps balance the emotions by keeping mood swings at bay, especially in romantic relationships. Let this stone remind you to invite and invoke angelic assistance to feel safe and secure.
Petalite helps you to maintain a balanced state of mental consciousness. Use this stone to think clearly and keep your perspective on reality. This stone facilitates creating calm peace and serenity. It calms people with hyperactivity when held with focused intention.
This stone is a powerful protector against bad energy and negative vibrations. When used in meditation or scrying, it brings peace and stillness It can enhance your ability to see psychic vibrations and the energies of other people.
Rubellite:-
The name Rubellite comes from the Latin rubellus, meaning “reddish,” and refers to the similarity of its color to that of the Ruby, though most Rubellites are more pink than red. They vary in hue from pale to shocking pink to a bold ruby-red, sometimes with a violet tint. While some in the gem world consider “Rubellite” to be merely a trade name for all deep pink/red Tourmalines, the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICGA) defines the criterion for Rubellites by the way they behave in daylight and artificial light. While many gemstones change color depending on the light source, a true Rubellite shines just as intensely in artificial light as it does in daylight, while other pink or red Tourmalines display a visible tinge of brown in artificial light.
Rubellite stimulates not only the Heart Chakra, but the Root Chakra as well, bringing an increased flow of prana, or life-force energies, to nurture and heal the emotional body. Its grounding influence increases a zest for living and for lively interaction with others. It helps revitalize passion and joy in sexuality, and aids in making dedicated commitments based on love.
Rubellite strengthens the ability to understand love, and promotes creativity in ways to put love out into the world. It assists one in being lively and sociable, but also encourages tactfulness and flexibility. Rubellite may be used for harmonizing the feminine energies within both sexes, and lends strength to women in emotional challenges.
Rubellite Tourmaline emanates the perfected vibrational pattern of the heart and is an excellent source of positive, nurturing energy for healing the physical heart. Rubellite Tourmaline soothes the emotional heart, helping to overcome fears concerning abundance, survival, stability and safety, and supports those who feel isolated or have difficulty in feeling at home in the world. It draws upon Universal Love for healing, and suggests that “heartbreak” can be “heart-opening,” and grief can be as valuable as joy. For those who are emotionally numb, Rubellite provides the way back into feeling, and allows for those who have become passive to rediscover their zest for living.\n\nRubellite Tourmaline expands one’s awareness of true abundance - the sense that all we need is provided by Spirit. Opening the heart to others and the world and receiving this abundance allows a sense of peace and fulfillment.
